Restored, 428 Cu In Big Block, 4 Spd Manual
1965 Ford Galaxie 500 for Sale. Restored South Carolina Big Block Ford Galaxie. Powered by a 428 Cu In V8 using all the best parts including TRW Forged Pistons, Lunati Hydraulic Cam and adjustable rockers, Cloyes roller timing chain, high volume oil pump, 7 quart Milodon oil pan, 427 valve heads, Edelbrock aluminum intake, 800 CFM carburetor, polished aluminum valve covers, Mallory Unilite HEI Distributor, Mallory Pro Coil, Taylor 8mm wires, Griffin aluminum radiator and 427 factory Ford cast iron headers into a new dual exhaust system with turbo mufflers. This combination is mated to a freshly rebuilt 4 speed top loader transmission and clutch assembly with a Hurst Shifter. The power produced continues through to a 9" Ford Posi rear end with a set of 3.55:1 gears.
During the restoration as many NOS parts were used as possible, and the list is extensive to produce this vehicle. Items include hood chrome, Galaxie Emblems, door handles, door and rear view mirrors, door edge moldings, gas cap door guard, sill plates, trunk chrome, front and rear bumper guards, rear tail light buckets and lenses. Other items also addressed during the restoration were new dash cap, carpets and headliner. The car also has upgraded power disc brakes and power steering. The interior of this 60's Cruiser remains relatively stock with a bench seat, auxiliary gauges and an Auto-Gauge Tachometer. When we look at Ford Classics, the most common one restored is the Mustang followed by a Thunderbird or a Fairlane. Rarely do you see a Galaxie restored to this high of a level.
