1968 Plymouth Hemi Road Runner for sale. The “ERA” of the “MUSCLE CAR” was upon the public. The big three were behind the cars full force, Pontiac’s GTO, Old’s 442, Chevy’s Camaro and Chevelle along with Ford’s Mustang all manufacturing “POWER”. Big blocks were available from each compang but it seemed to go without saying that the car in ’68 to “BEAT ON THE STREET” was the “HEMI”. Plymouth’s team of engineers and their advertising department in cooperation with Warner Brothers introduced the public to the Road Runner, “BEEP, BEEP! A FIRST, a cartoon helping to sell a car! Big motor and just the bare essentials! The usual one rolled off the assembly line with a 383 CI, rubber floor mats and what’s often referred to as a cheap woven looking vinyl seats.
The Road Runner illustrated is unique, it’s documented and in the Chrysler Registry as a “ONE of One”! It’s the only Hemi Road Runner in ’68 that was built to special specs for export.
